Welcome, whats is the difference between a regular 2wheel drive and a desert runner-they are 2wd right?

2000 Nissan Frontier Review and Specs

They are both 2wd and from my understanding the desert runner sits up higher than a normal frontier. (i think).

2000 Nissan Frontier Specs and Features - MSN Autos

From a quick glance, the Desert Runner had the specs similar to the Crew Cab (engine, clearance, fuel capacity), but in the King Cab size. Looks like it was basically the King Cab with the crew cab options = desert runner.

I only looked over those data sheets though, I could be wrong.
