Seems most systems I've seen for the Frontier was really just muffler-swaps... and aren't cat-back.

That, in addition I have a 2010 Frontier...so my choices in the matter are limited as most companies havent listed it as a compatible model...

So, what cat-backs are out there?

I noticed the "Y" pipe is WAY off balance in terms of length (passenger side is short, drivers side is long) - are there any that are actually "Y" shaped (or use an H or X pipe design) and have two exits...more like a real dual exhaust (and not just a dual exit exhaust)?

I'll have to take a good look under my truck to see how it could be routed. The offset Y I'm sure is not only making things sound wierd, but also being a bit obstructive.

If that could be remedied (a short Y shaped pipe...) into a large single pipe into a large flowing muffler and out...that might be nice ;)

Mostly I'm interested in just stepping it up a notch in volume. At idle, short of the RPM guage, I can't hear it - lol...

Sound wise, I'd like something that sounds about like my neighbor's silverado, which I think has a flowmaster setup. Granted, that's a 350ci V8...but...I'm sure something close could be done.

I just ordered the Dynomax system- I'll post the results when it's installed.
I scoured the forum on here last night, and I remember this was one of the few that caught my attention (no offense to others, tastes differ)

Seems like the other was a Flowmaster 50 SUV, but I can't remember.

I did like Irongrave said only I went with a dual in dual out Flo-Pro system. While it is not a true dual exhaust it does eliminates the Y pipe. I have been very happy with the system both in regard to the sound and the longevity. This also eliminates any spare tire space issues. You can see my system in the link at the bottom of my signature.

**Update**

I installed the Dynomax cat back system last weekend. It took me about an hour and a half just because I had to cut out the custom system it had on it. The only modification I had to make was trimming the rear hanger by the tail pipe- it was too long to fit in the bracket.

Overall, I am VERY happy with the results. I also bought the Dynomax bullet muffler to use as a resonator if necessary. It does have some drone inside the cab at certain RPM's. I'm going to put a few thousand miles on it to see if it mellows out. If not, I'll add the resonator. To me, it sounds like a stock Mustang GT at slow speeds, and really roars when you give it some juice.

Anyway, take it for what it's worth. If anyone is looking at this system, I would give it a thumbs up.
