I'm chasing a couple cabin leaks that made the carpet damp and smelly. Not sure I'm going to succeed, so I was hoping to replace with molded vinyl floor, but, as with many other types of accessories )o:<! there's none available for generation 2 Frontier. So I'm thinking of applying DIY roll-on liner or plasti-dip to the underside of the carpet so the molded foam and carpet base will be less susceptible to soaking up water from below. Thoughts / comments on this Wile E Coyote Supergenius notion?

Sprayed with Rustoleum Rubber Sealant. It doesn't create a monolithic coating. There's too many fissures and cracks in the molded foam. I might try painting Flex Seal on with a brush.

Update: Nah. I found the leaks, so why bother? FYI, the spray sealant took a couple weeks of cold weather to stop outgassing. It probably would have been faster in summer heat. Overall satisfied with the result. It can't hurt.
