:hi: hey guys just thought id share a side project ive had for a few weeks. i had ordered up a new intake cover to paint/colornatch white, thought it liven up that dark engine bay. anyways turns out i used somthing called di-noc by 3m. this stuff is amazing! it will adhear to just about anything. i bought white carbon fiber. the best part aside from about 7 colors is it actually feels like carbon fiber. this stuff isnt cheep though, about 15 bucks a square foot. but trust me if your after a carbon fiber look this is the way to go, that is without actually doing carbon fiber. i sprayed a coat of clear on it to give it nice finished look, it all depends upon your taste and liking.

i am still waiting to get some graphite color in so i can finish it all up; will post more pictures finished. hope this helps any of you or i hope you simply enjoy it!

pm me with any questions.

Hey thanks man! i got it from Carbon Fiber Gear. they have all sorts of stuff thats carbon fiber.

heres the linkCarbon Fiber Gear: Your source for everything carbon fiber

and link to the vinyl: 3M Di-NOC Carbon Fiber Vinyl : Carbon Fiber Gear

thanks for lookin!
hey that wouldnt look bad, id go for like the 90 buck option and leave the seam underneath. youll want to learn how to splice it, easy but takes practice. if you go for it let me know how it turns out, post some pics up here. i thought about doing it to my polished k&n, was going to originally paint it but thought why destroy a perfetly new intake. like i said let me know how it turns out!

just some tips if you do go ahead and try it: make sure you use a hairdryer or heat gun perferably, take your time and really work with it and definatly get some of the 3m primer 94 for the seams and edges, especially if its an engine part!
well guys sadly the cover has bit the dust :thatswck: . the heat of the engine caused the vinyl to slowly creep back even after a HEAVY coat of the primer94. i was just waiting for it to happen and it did. 90 bucks and about 3 weeks down the tubes :comphead: but i might retry this with a different method. either way im sad that it came to this. if you still have questions about it post a reply or pm me.
