I'm in the middle of my timing chain tensioner shoe replacement and I was not able to locate myself the special tool used to lock the flywheel.
Plenty of people have said they did the job w/o the tool so I decided to give it a go. I put a breaker bar on the crank side and locked the one of the cam shafts with a wrench.
All I can get is some clicking noises like I'm jumping the chain on the gears. I tried locking a camshaft on both sides of the engine at the same time and still no luck, just clicking. I also just tried using a 1/2" impact gun and haven't had any luck with that so far either.
Any suggestions other than getting the special tool or taking it to a shop?
