Hi All,

I picked up a 2008 Frontier a few weeks ago. It was well cared for, but there is one thing that is bugging me and maybe someone here can help me figure out where the noise is coming from.

When parked for a while (I notice it in the morning when leaving for work, and then after work when leaving to go home) I will put it in drive and start to gain speed. It seems to be happening around when it's shifting into second gear. Not at the exact moment it switches to second, but somewhere around there.

I'd liken the sound to something bouncing off a stretched cable. Like something is colliding, and then there's a slight vibration (sound) for a split second.

It will not happen again while I'm driving. It just does it once at the beginning. It seems to happen no matter how long I let it warm up before driving.

Any thoughts?

Thanks all
Josh

It’s interesting how on some trucks you never hear it, while others are much more pronounced.

Appreciate the responses. I had read about that, but the description of the sound was a little different so wanted to be sure.

I've been loving it so far over the '00 4Cyl King Cab I had prior. That one didn't have ABS, so the noise is new to me.
