I've had this problem since I've had the truck. Basically you can be driving then all of a sudden the speedometer and 4wd stops working and the brake and 4wd lights come on. Randomly one time i hit the horn while this happened and they went off. Now every time it does that i just blow the horn, but its getting to be annoying. I've searched and searched to find out if someone has the same problem but I have not seen anyone with the horn solution. BTW it seems to only do this above 60 degree weather, this winter it hardly ever had issues but now since its getting hotter it does it daily. It also seems to do it more at highway speeds and will knock you out of CC. Thanks in advance for any insight.

I'm sure that it's not shutting off. It drives normal except for the lights coming on and speedometer not working. I have no stutters, hard starts, etc. so everything else seems normal.

Are you talking about the relays that were bad from the factory? I had some starting problems when I bought the truck and replaced the ecm relay with a new relay part #284B7-CW29E if that's what you're talking about.

The ipdm itself does not look like it's been replaced, but the relay has, (by me). I just checked all the engine grounds and they all look good. Thanks for the replies guys.

I poked around on the wiring diagram a little bit, the only thing I could find were fuses 14 and 19 are shared for the indicators and the cruise control. Doesn't really explain the horn though.

edit: Just saw the youtube link, that's what happens when I do stuff in the morning. Do you know what the CEL is on for?

The CEL is for both cats. One was half way missing (broken apart) when I bought the truck so I went ahead and gutted both of them, I will eventually put long tubes on it. Yeah I don't know why the horn makes everything go back to working order. I have another video i can post in a minute.
