hey everyone, i know this is a FAQ but i want to ask for myself. i have an 07 crew cab 4x4, i purchased the 2" front spacer kit by PRG and the 1.5" blocks as well. To go with that i have 33" BFG KM2 mud terrain tires and i have noticed a little wear on the outside of the tire more than the inside of the tire. i rotate the tires every 3,000 miles. to help with the "wear" on the tires i purchased and installed the camber bolts. i have took the truck to several tire alignment places and the tries still look like the camber is out. the tries appear to b cocked inward (the bottom of the tire is pointing towards the truck as the top is pointing outward). i even took the truck to an alignment shop that doesn't use an electronic machine, just the old fashion way, which personally is the best way.
SO, the question i have, what does PRG or any company make to fix this problem?? to sum it up, what do i have to do to get my tires as straight as the rear tires.
in the future im thinking of purchasing some radflo coilovers to rake out my truck in the front end.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be great. Thanks

You should not need them with the lift you've got, but PRG's Upper Control Arms with heim joints give you lots more control over the alignment.

I could not get into the green on my truck without them, but I've got 6" of lift.

i had the exact same problem until I found a small alignment shop who was able to make it happen. Not sure what they did differently, but before he took it off the rack he brought me out and showed me the machine with camber right in spec. tires have been wearing even since then.

I have a 2" spacer lift on my wife's truck and was able to get the alignment in perfect.

You need to find a good alignment tech.

i had this same problem after installing a 2" kit on a tacoma i had. the alignment shops are idiots. they dont know how or dont want to mess with a truck with a lift on it. finaly had to tell them i wanted the camber set at or as close to 0.0 as possible no matter what the stupid computer says. after 4 times complaining to the place i got a guy that knew what he was doing and did it right.

I go to Firestone Auto centers(Lifetime Alignment thingy); I've heard they have/order/install cam bolts for us too!
Should be able to at least get 0* with your lift.

add/edit: Some trucks need CBs more than others; some drivers too (i.e: my camber is set @ -1* for street manners).

been there - mine is still like that but the tires are wearing pretty evenly. cambolts are sitting on the shelf in my garage untill i have time to put them in.
So what I got off of your write up is that with a 2" lift we don't even need camber bolts? Cause when my truck didn't have the camber bolts the truck looked like it had broken uca's. Now with the camber bolts my tires actually started to rub the fenders. So the bolts do help but I just want my tries straight as possible so I'm going to look in to PRG's uca's. The more abjust the better for me ha.

read what BRUTAL and Greg wrote in that thread. Its an ongoing debate. My alignment guy told me that he should be able to get them to stand completely vertical once the cam bolts are installed. I plan on installing Radflo's soon - when i do that i will change out the cam bolts and have it realigned.

I had a 2inch lift spacer before and had 2 diffrent shops do it. First I went to pep boys. They are F'ing retarted! They told me I would need to get camber bolts to aline my truck. Then I find out all 05 have them!!! I looked, and sure enough there they were!!! Its like they didnt even put it up on the lift and look, or do any thing! NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE!!!!!

Then took it to my dealer, and they said they got it close but its not perfect.

Then I put in a 3 inch spacer. My Nissan dealer told me the same thing.... It really close, but not perfect. IDK if aftermarket camber bolts will adj. more then stock ones will?

^^^ Does anyone know this???? Thanks!

so i read what they had to say and to be honest i didn't get a full answer ha. they did say the camber bolts do help but idk how these trucks are aligned without the camber bolts. the machine may say aligned but my human eye says different.
also i have noticed when my truck is at home where i park it the tires look crooked, but last night at a gas station the tries looked dead even with the back. idk what the deal is. my driveway is concret and is level with a slight slope but not enough to see.
BTW, do you know anything about the Radflo's? can you use the prg blocks with them or not. cause im wanting to rake my truck out and the shocks (or Greg) say not to exceed 2.5" and with a 4x4 to ride them at 2" for a smooth ride, but if i do that im right back to where i am now ha. and with the price of $800 they should jack my truck sky high not my wallet ha..

you can't jack up a 4x4 like that cause of the front diff. You need to maintain geometry between the front diff and t-case or u-joints fail. That is why they make drop bracket kits. If you want to go higher then you got to look into the fabtech and calmini kits, or do a body lift.

I have a 3 inch spacer on the front of my 4x4. I heard all the warnings before I did it. The more I dug to find answer, I found it's more about coil bucket contact, not as much the u joints being at a extream angle. I had my 3 inch spacer on for a bout a year now. The coil bucket contact was real bad, and that's the main reason they don't recomend it. Because the average customer would freak when the heard it and want there money back.

I look at the u joints on my truck now, with the 3 inch spacer..... It's not bad realy at all. To stop the coil bucket contact, I ground down a small part on my UCA and all the contact is gone!!! I've had no issue and am happy I went for it. It cost me $100 to have a 3 inch lift on my truck! Happy about that, for sure.

i noticed that you have the fabtech bracket. i talked to my friend about this rout and i have looked into it but i dont need fabtechs entire 6" lift i just need the bracket. i put that idea to the side cause i wasnt sure what else i would need to go with it. im guessing longer shocks and coils. but what about uca's? what all did you have to do to you truck. i just want 2.5" to 3" in the front of the truck. and keeping my alignment straight ha.

ok so then I guess you don't really want to "jack my truck sky high" Yea with the fabtech you can get up there, but ride quality suffers, so then you need to add more gear and it gets expensive quick.

This package from PRG will give you up to 3" of lift and make your truck ride real nice.
