I have a terrific 2000 Nissan Frontier XE that looks practically new, but inside the cab, the fabric on the ceiling is coming loose in several places - most annoyingly where the fabric meets the windshield directly in the driver's site line. There are a couple of other places where it has "bubbled" loose as well. Does anyone have some good advice on how to fix this problem... I've been searching the forums, and I haven't found anyone else posting with this problem...

I have a 00 KC XE truck and my headliner is coming loose also.
looking at the FSM, its an easy task, but plan on a solid day or two without the truck.
To remove the headliner, its pretty much gut the interior.
all the trim below the headliner has to come out. the jump seats have to come out, and at that point to have some room to work, the front seats need to be out unless your a little wormy guy...
Yea a new headliner would be a good way to go, but the spray upholstery works well too. just make sure you get the stuff for upholstery otherwise it may bleed thru the cloth.

Yup, just remove the headliner completely from the truck. Remove the fabric. If it doesn't come off easily, then buy new fabric and just rip the old stuff off. Clean the un-covered headliner good and spray with adhesive. Then apply the new fabric and make sure there are no bubbles. Then fold the edges, glue, cut excess off and re-install. It will take some time due to labor but the results are great.

How can you get it out without creasing it? I'm sure it went in before the back window went in.

here is an idea. If it is only coming down in spots you can try getting a needle and some silicone. I don't know if that will work. If you decide to pull it down, replacing the fabric isn't that easy. You need to buy the sponge backing and the fabric that you see. You need to get some spray adhesive from walmart (3M). And, installing the sponge is difficult b/c with spray adhesive, you only get one shot. So, you start from the middle and go outwards. Like putting on a sticker, and trying to not get air bubbles under it.

Or, you can go to a junkyard and buy a used one thats in good condition.

I had the exact same issue on my 01. I would not advise using any kind of spray adhesive or glue. Learn from my mistake! I removed the headliner and stapled it right along the top edge. When installed it has a slight curve up towards the windhsheild and you cant even see it. the only way you can tell is if you run your hand along the line.
