Hey guys, finally got the bullydog tuner for my 2012 Frontier, and bumped up the idle 50 RPM. There is absolutely no vibration whatsoever after I did it, and I can now monitor exact coolant temp, trans temp, and RPM. It is pricey being around 400 dollars but so far I am happy.

Hello Jayfects thanks for posting this...
Does this BullyDog remove the WOT (wide open throttle) restriction ?
If so what is the model number / part number of this Bullydog unit.
Thanks in advance.

Did you buy this unit online or through a local vendor? I'm curious about the setup procedure. Guessing you download your maps from their site and you are using the most recent?

The WOT restriction is of debate in other threads I have read about on this unit, some claiming that it doesn't fully removing the restriction. Not sure how they know this.

I bought it online, I got it off Hoonigan’s site, bullydog sells it online as well. The setup procedure is loading the tune (you get from bullydogs website) putting it on an SD card (which they send you) and then putting the sd card into the unit, afterward you put it in your OBD II and read the instructions from there. I personally didn’t notice a difference even when removing the WOT restriction.

Thanks for that info. It seems like BullyDog or UpRev are the two decent remaining options and I'm looking into them, just wondering if they are truly worth it. I like the BullyDog option because of the info display on fluid temps, economy, etc. Would love to hear about any other perks you experience from it. Enjoy!

Just the peace of mind of being able to monitor those temperatures is alone worth the money. Also has a gauge to help you monitor fuel economy and gives you a grade on the way you drive. If you listen to the built in driving coach overtime the tuner will pay for itself just on the gas money you save 😂
