From what I've read the "popular choice" is to NOT install one as they are nicknamed Damage Multipliers due to the fact that if you're involved in a minor front ender they usually fold backwards onto the hood and cause even more damage than you would have received if it had not been installed...

Damage Multipliers? What brands do you mean by those, I tried searching the forum on that, but yielded no results.

I saw this one too CARTRIX.com :: Black Horse Off Road BB110209BS-SP Black and Stainless Bull Bar for Nissan Frontier 2005 - 2016

I have issues with this forums search feature but went directly to Google and did not get to finish typing "Bull Bar Damage Multiplier" that it knew... Some brands may be worse than others and while I like the look of some of these add-on bars they all pretty much bolt on in the same manner so I'll avoid them all..

What's the popular choice these days? I have been looking at a few Black Horse Off Road Options, and really like this one.

Bull bars are bull bars, they're all pretty much the same... they're either Westin, Steelcraft, or a clone. Just go with one that looks good to you from a reputable seller.

I call BS on the damage multipliers. I've had a few different bull bars on my truck and they have saved my front bumper from being ripped off more than once. If you smash something hard enough to bend tube into your grill, you were going to have damage anyways.
