I just received my stage II cams in today. 264 int/exh duration, .426 int/exh lift. Same ones Brutal has and Johnny just put in. I'll be installing them this weekend. Really looking forward to getting them done. I'll try to take plenty of photos in case somebody else decides to tackle it themselves. After the install, I plan to get my truck back up to Uprev for a dyno retune and will post the results up when I get them done. Will do the tune as soon as I can get the cams safely broken in and uprev have time for me.

Good to hear...sounds like there's some pretty major mods on the horizon here. What are the estimated gains from these w/ the re-tune?

From what Brian Crower's techs say based on my current mods--minimum 20whp, most likely 30whp. But who knows. Cant find any other Vq40's who have done cams and have dynoed after them. Even hard to find vq35 cars with just cam dynoes done.

$875 for the set if you look hard. Most people have them for $900-$1100, but some of them have them on sale occasionally for a little cheeper, like the $875+ shipping I just paid.
I also will be getting in tomorrow and installing my Nismo 350Z thermostat too while I do the cam install.

I guess that isn't too bad return for the dollar. Looking forward to see how the install goes...are you planning on opening up the motor for anything more in the future?

This SHOULD be it for my trucks engine for a while. I still plan to get Trutrac and maybe gears this coming summer but thats it. But who knows. I still want my truck to be very dependable and just maybe, maybe, pass emissions testing. Plus I still owe the dealership plenty for it.
I'm just trying to get solidly into the high 13's. I can maybe do it like I am now, but it would take perfect conditions to do it. Another 20-30hp from the cams should put me there safely.

Congratulations on the purchase! I can't wait for the install day. I'm sure its going to be a night and day difference over your stock cam's.

That's a good goal for now, I keep forgetting your truck's an '08. It'd be nice to see you break into the 13's after this mod!

I won't officially be doing a "before & after" dyno. Almost though. I was dynoed by Uprev last year about the same time. The only mods since then is the removal of my flowmaster and h-pipe, replaced with my dual magnaflows and X-pipe. And I also got dynoed after that swap, though at a different place. So worse case, I will be showing what cams and magnaflows will add.
I also got in my Nismo 350Z thermostat today! I will be installing it the same time as my cams. I also picked up a pair of timing chain tensioner shoes just in case mine are worn. They cost me $5 each. Such a tiny little inexpensive thing can cost a lot of trouble & money when they go bad.

Update again. There a ton of parts on our engines. No big issues again. Got to the point that the timing cover comes off next. I also took a few photos just to give an ideal just how much has to be taken off to get to just where I'm at. And I still dont have the timing cover off or of course the chains and cams.
Done today--
1-Both Valve covers
2-Idler pulley
3-Belt tensioner
4-Engine wiring harness
5-All 6 ignition coils
6-Crank Pulley
7-Timing gear covers(2)
9-Main tensioner cover
10-Water pump cover
11-Alt. & P/S bracket
12-Cam sensor
13-Cam timing units(2)
14-Again more hoses & wires
Time invested today-3.5hrs, total man hours so far 6.5hrs.
