Hello, my 2010 Frontier SE 4x4 is only about a month old, I was on the freeway onver the weekend and noticed when I put on my brakes i get quite a shimmy. If you take your hands off the wheel you can actually see the shimmy. At low city speeds its hardly noticable. Any one else have this problem? Any idea whats causing it?

sounds like warped rotors to me. I noticed this weekend everytime i let my truck sit overnight my brakes squeak on the first few stops. i hope there isn't some sort of brake issue on the '10s :crikey:

i have this problem too. i thought it was cause im running 33's, but if you guys have to to i wouldnt worry bout it. i think its just a characteristic of the truck

If you have < 12k miles take it in and get it checked. No reason a new vehicle of any sort (except a harley) should have a shimmy in it.

just to be clear i have not (yet) experienced any vibration just a squeak. just hoping it doesnt develop into more than that. i only have 1200 miles exactly. (break in period over on the way to work this morning!!!!)

Rotors were out of round. they turned them and everything is perfect now.

Spoke to the dealer shop forman, he said that the metallic brake squeak is rather common and not to worry.

this isn't directed towards you at all but....

i'm sorry you went to a lying s****y dealer. with all the advancements in technology they mean to tell you that on a $25k+ truck and they cant make the brakes not squeak?? TOTAL BS. It's amazing to me some of theses dealers. do they think people are just that stupid or don't care? when i went in they heard the squeak and "reset" the brakes. they said if that didnt fix it come back in and they will replace the brakes. i will be going in for brake replacement soon as that did not change anything.

they will be replacing pads or rotors or both until it stops because in my book that is absolutely unacceptable.
