If you dont come up w/ anything I use one of THESE it is not as good as one built into the block but for the price it sure helps alot.

Where do you live, Canada? I don't think you need one if the temp stays above zero. Synthetic oil will help a lot in cold temps.

I would use it when it was ~20F or so or less, may not be NEEDED but sure makes an easier start, just dont forget to take it off everytime, found mine at the end of my driveway one day (driveway is half mile long!)

im moving up 2 montana and it does get below zero there for weeks at a time. the magnetic one sounds good just so i can make it easier to start during those cold days. Even if its not needed it will just b nice.

I had a mag on my 87, it wont get the engine warm enough that the heater will blow warm as soon as you fire up the truck but it will help keep it from freezing.
