First of all I may have screwed this up, I've never posted a poll before. If I did I apologize in advance. I had originally wanted to put KMC Rockstar wheels on my truck but after reading some threads here I think I may just paint my stockers. (alot cheaper) What is your opinion between black or gun metal on a black SE with OEM step bars? I tried a photochop and neither looked at all realistic to me. I also think I'm going to try to find a spare set to do this with and keep my originals. Thanks for the opinions!

I say gun metal. This is what I did to my wheels, because I wanted the Moto Metal 951's. So maybe you can paint your stockers like the ones that you wanted.

I painted my stocker SE rims like so (more pics in my gallery):

Maybe the pictures of other peoples rims will give you ideas.
I vote gunmetal because that's what I did, but I've seen black vehicles with black rims that look sweet too.

Tough call there.

I put the main gray color down first, masked and did the black, masked and did the red.
Definitely better to have an extra set of rims like the OP mentioned if you want to take your time.
That's what I did, bought a second set to paint.
Took me about a week from beginning to end, lots of coats and a good amount of drying time in between.

Man Harsh they really look good color matched with those sliders against the red brawn.

I voted gun metal but I really hate the SE wheels so I would get some after-market wheels.
I don't like two colors on stock wheels ether but that's me.

On a black truck, I vote gloss black. On any other colour truck, I vote gun metal...or why not Storm Grey???
