We might talk alot of trash about the stock tires that come on our truck. Last night I swapped out my mudders (winter tire) and put my OEM wheels and tires back on (summer). What a nice set of tires these are. OK so I have sliced a hole in them when drifting on rocky trails, have crap for traction, wears out the center (even though they were infalted properly). But...they are light, accelerates fast (it's like my truck gained 15hps just by running these tires), rocks the gas mileage (my mpg meter just keeps ticking up). I am temped to get another set of these to use as summer tires when these wear out. ...OK just temped

Theres prolly better options for a standard 6-ply tire...
Bridgestone HT for example, Firestone also.
Craigslist..?

you know idk about these tires, my two rear ones on my 07 hardly have any tread in the middle and the fronts are fine. idk what the previous owner ran them at. but obviously didnt rotate.

ANd my MPG jsut keeps going up. I have driven about 100 since I swapped them back. ANd the meter has settled to about 22.5mpg. When I was running the mudders all winter I had the mpg meter settle to about 18.5.

THe more I drive around on these tires the more I like them. I forget how quite and smooth my truck was.

However this morning there was about 5 inches of new snow outside. I stopped the truck on the side of the road in the freash snow on a hill to reach my mailbox. Tried to take off in 4wd and slide sideways a bit into the curb. Had to back down the hill a couple of feet and get in the "track" before I tried to start agian. The mudders would have jsut took off fine.

Are you guys talking about the Long Trails or the Rugged Trails? and yes I did read the post title. My truck came with the Long Trails from the factory and I heard they had weak/thin sidewalls and I didn't care for them much while driving on them. So I upgraded to the Rugged Trails when I got rims, the Rugged Trails seem alot better and I have no complaints yet traction is much better in the rain, snow and mud. And a couple of FJ's and a Nismo Frontier I am friends with seem to run them with no complaints.
I don't off road my truck as severe as some of you guys so maybe the Rugged's are ok for me, and I do alot of highway driving so I wanted a quiet tire.

What do you guys think of the BFG All Terrains for road noise and offroading if I move up from the Rugged's? Sorry I am still a bit new to the offroad scene, but put me near a Import drag or drift car and I can help you all day.

Fisher, did you get your truck used? Our trucks came stock with rugged trails. In fact I heard the opposite. THat the Long trail is actually a better tire and came out first. However poeple did not like the looks and the name So they came up with a cheaper tire that had a more agressive looking tread that was still smooth and quite for the OEM market: the Rugged trail.

Next winter I am going to get me some treadwright retreaded, The Revo copycat pattern with ice compound rubber. Mudders even studded and custom grooved and siped suck *** on ice and packed snow.

Nismo's came w/ Rugged Trails, non-Nismo's came with Long-Trails.

They are both crap.

Nissan4Life I got my truck brand new fresh off the assembly line straight off the car carrier. Had to order it the way I wanted and wait 3 months to get it from Nissan. I checked my dealer booklets and yeah the Nismo's came with the Rugged's and all other models got the Long Trails.
Well so far for what I do the Rugged's have been good but think I am going all terrain next tire buy, or who knows what will be out by then with kevlar tires and all showing up.

Last weeks snow storm was a pretty good one. Started off as rain then froze, then dropped about a foot. It was one hell of a drive to work adn back. Don't get me wrong, I would never go out and buy this tire. But it was a nice relief from big mudders.

17k and mine were barely inspectable. Routinely rotated. Wore evenly (except for the stupid center tread) with no burnouts, etc. I am amazed at some of the mileage claims I am hearing. You guys must be counting the steel belts as part of the wear or something.....
