replaced all 3 belts on my 98 fronty due to a squeek at start-up. still have the squeek and I think its the power steering pump. But where I need help is now i have this whining sound that raises and lowers as i drive. Anyone have any helpful insite? I checked the tension on the belts and its between 1/4 and 1/2. Insite is much needed. :comphead:

I decided to remove all the belts and go 1 by1 to find where the squeel was and possibly the whining noise was coming from, and to my surprise it was the belts i had bought at pep boys. the v pattern wasn't matching the pully groove causing the whine. as for the squeel after i broke the tension bolt at the alt and replaced w/new and used the old belts all it needed was a little tightening of the alt and fan belt and bye bye to the squeel. all that work for a simple problem. bang head here:comphead:
