Hey dude, I don't have a lot of experience with this so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I just installed a used UWS crossover toolbox on my truck [2012 super black CC S-trim] (I think it's this one:
). The guy I bought it from helped me put it on my truck in the parking lot, took about 5 minutes. It's been great so far and I like the way it looks. Just my $0.02.

I have single-lid crossbed tool boxes on both my 1988 Mazda truck and on either my 1998 or 2004 Frontiers; I swap them from one Frontier to the other depending upon where I need it, under 15 minutes, 4 sheet metal screws.

I like the single lid tool boxes because I can fit my golf clubs or my softball equipment bag in there if I want.

If you have utilitrak then look for an OEM toolbox that mounts on the trak system near you. My truck had one when I bought it, but I sold it to someone as I needed that extra space for my kayak.

ft laud mike, truck tool boxes vary in the manner of installation, in materials and finishes applied, as well as the lid configuration. If you're not sure which one would be the best for your Frontier, you can read our Types of Truck Tool Boxes article for better understanding. The best options to choose from for your exact truck are offered by Dee Zee and UnderCover. Let me know if you have questions on any particular one.

I just installed a UWS low profile toolbox and Its really nice and tough enough to stand on without bending. Im 200lbs. Installation is super easy. Dont pay someone to install. No holes or drilling necessary. You just need a socket wench and thats it.

if you have utili-track I have the Nissan sliding toolbox for sale, had it in both of my gen2's and at first in my gen3 but wife liked sportbar more so here it is. IMO it is overall one of the better tool boxes to have in the frontier. If you have the tracks that is. I live in St Augustine FL just a few hours north of you.
