Hi i own a 2000 frontier v6 se crew cab. I need help on what is the best battery for my truck that wont die with extra lights installed on the frontier?
I was also wondering if anyone has seen or have a switchblade style key for a 2000 frontier or a key and remote in one style key? If so were?
Thanks

Its not all on the battery, a lot has to do with the alternator. If it can't charge as quick as it is used, your battery will always fail.

I know everyone loves the optimas but the Everstart from Walmart has a 3yr warranty and then another 5yr prorated for 8yrs total. On top of all of it, its only 80 bucks or so.

Another happy optima customer here. I have a yellow top in one vehicle and a red top in the other and they have both been awesome. I have the redtop 7586DT in my 2000 crewcab.

Don't mean to hijack at all, but I've also been intrigued by the switchblade keys on ebay. Does anyone know whether they'll work with just a cut, or if there's something that the dealer has to do (program a chip, for example) for the key to work?

I ask because my buddy's ebay-bought Dakota key had to be programmed at the dealer before it worked - I think they charged him $175 or something ridic.

Im pretty sure you have to program it someway as all cars are to be opened with their own remotes. For example I could not open your 2000 CC V6 SE with the remote for my 2000 CC SE V6.

On your 2000 crewcab what red top do you have teh red 25 or red 75/35?

What i meant was that i can only find the switchblade key for newer frontiers so if i bought that would it work on my 2000 cc?

I think the 75/35 as the battery number starts with 75.

I would imagine if you find a way to program the frequency or whatever of the key fob then you can program it to work for the frequency on your truck.

How do I know if my 2003 Crew cab XE long bed 4x4 has remote entry...

The truck is an xe, but i have fog lights, auto dimming compass mirror, lumbar support, pw, pl, cruise, tilt, power mirrors...
I think I have every option but sunroof, leather, chrome rims, and supercharger.

You cannot have the remote entry without the alarm. When I went for a while with a dead remote I noticed this. My alarm would go off when I would lock my truck through the drivers door and then open the passenger door with the key. it seems to me that the drivers door lack controls the alarm somehow.

Heck I'd settle for a non switch blade style like I have with my Honda Fit. Any which way you slice it it has to be programmed for your vehicle. I don't see how you can avoid going to the dealer on something like this with factory alarm/security...

cheap batteries from walmart & autozone have always lasted me 5+ years

can't see paying top dollar for a premium. I'm more interested in how well they sell so i know they get rotated
