I had my brake pads replaced with Hawk Pads as well as rotors resurfaced - and within a week they were grinding / eating away at my rotors.

the mechanic is blaming the hawk pads being too "stiff" - has anyone else had a bad experience using them?

Usually a high performance pad like that will cause more rotor wear. The extra stopping power has to come from somewhere since you didn't increase surface area of the pad. Its logical that the pad will be more aggressive to account for the extra power. On my last Frontier I bought EBC green stuff pads and they were doing to same thing. Added wear just comes with added performance.
yeah figured.... is there a rotor set I could run with them so they hold up (and also not grind?)
