Kudos for all the work and research. Looks like it could be a higher resolution option for those of us WITHOUT the 360 cam... even if it doesn't offer the same field of view. Would be interesting if there is a 180FOV camera that might be just higher resolution as a replacement. I only use my rear view as a way to 'see around corners' when backing out of a parking spot. It is convenient to be able to see down the traffic lane when backing up.

I dont see where anybody has brought up the issue of the sun shining on the monitor and making it impossible to use it backing up. Then monitor is laying back at a bad angle. I want to find a small hood or visor for my monitor so the sun cant shine on it and make the back up camera much more useful. Has anyone invented that yet?

I can't say I've had that issue. Rather than 3d print a hood or something, maybe a small piece of black vinyl could do the trick.
