Backup Alarm Issue

So, I've been having some issues with the backup alarm coming on the moment I put it in reverse. There is nothing behind, and it gives out the long beep as if I'm right on top of something. It doesn't happen every time, only sometimes. Has anyone had a similar issue, or heard of something like that? I would like to get it to stop because after a week of this, its starting to really annoy me.
