Hiya guys, :hi:
Wonder if you could help a UK member please.

The tranny fluid in my 2008 D40 didn't look the right colour even though she runs fine and changes smoothly.
I wanted to replace the fluid myself by draining from the tranny sump drain bolt and refilling via the dipstick.

I went to the local dealer, gave my car details and was given 10 ltrs of Nissan Matic D fluid, of which I've put 5 ltrs into the tranny and the colour on the dipstick is now much better.

My problem is that i've since been told that my model of Navara should ONLY use Matic J fluid, not Matic D fluid.

What is the differnce between the two? , are they compatable? and what the heck should I do now?

Thanks.

Just come off the phone from the dealer.

They've admitted thier mistake, offered a full refund on the wrongly supplied fluid and advised that although they think another "gravity" drop with the correct fluid would probably suffice, they would prefer for safety sake to do a full workshop transmission flush..............at THIER expense.

Must admit I'm pretty chuffed with that. OK, so they should have known better in the first place, but at least they've admitted to thier fault and offered to rectify it.

Nice one.

Picked her up last night and well pleased.
True to thier word, a full flush and a refund on the wrongly supplied fluid. I also made sure I got something in writing, just in case there are problems down the line.
Manual quotes a capacity of 10.3 ltrs, they told me they would order 20 ltrs and when I picked her up, they advised that they'd actually used 18.5 ltrs.
Thats good enough for me.:goodjob:
Drove home last night anf there is a definate difference in shifting, especially 1st to 2nd. Much, much smoother.

Glad they actually owned up to their mistake and fixed it. That is good to hear.

My wife and I went to London for our honeymoon, and had a great time (during the world cup even). I will be honest though, I don't recall seeing many trucks while I was there. You must be one of the few, unless it is more common outside the big city.
