Hey There. I am an owner of a 2002 SC Frontier Crew cab with 150k miles. With a automatic lock question. Can you help?

All 4 automatic door locks went out at the same time after a dealer drivers side seat belt recall replacement last week. The remote does not work to open locks, nor do the back tail lights flash when the fob is hit. The drivers side panel lock does not work for any doors from the inside. There is a clicking sound under the radio when the drivers side door panel lock is pushed on or off. Any suggestions?

Chilton manual states if there is no sound from acutators it could be harness or "door lock control unit". "door lock control unit sounds like something other than an actuator. Is it one and the same thing? Second opinion dealer states it could be controller assembly smart entrance part 285957Z800 which is no longer made and would have to come from a junkyard 01-04 exterra.

Any help would be appreciated

not real familiar with the 1st gen, but it sounds like they failed to plug something back in. Have you downloaded a soft copy of the FSM? This would probably be your best bet on where things are located and how they operate. You can find them here. Be sure you got all the chapters. cross-reference the TOC page with the individual chapters. I have found that the 2013 is missing a chapter for some reason...

Most likely related to the recall work, take to the dealer, should fix for free. Odds are something that they did.
