It's was really hot last week and Sunday night my truck started shifting problems. Truck shifts fine when cold but when warm it slips from 1-2-3 needed more revs than normal. Also it seems to me shifting into overdrive too. Checked fluid level, seems too full when cold, but fluid stays the same level when hot. Any ideas?

what does the color of the fluid look like? how many miles are on the truck?
also, check the fluid level while the truck is warm, and idling in neutral.

108,xxx on the odo, got the truck with 63,xxx. Changed tranny fluid about 80,xxx, fluid still pink. Checked fluid level cold, read full on "hot" level on dipstick. Checked when warm, idling in neutral this morning, still read full on "hot"

if it is constantly reading full, it may be over filled. i'm no tranny expert, but i have read that having too full of a tranny could cause foaming. foaming fluid can cause the same symptoms as having low fluid, as well as overheating the tranny. i'm not saying that this is the problem, just putting info out there.

Generally, if an auto trans slips at normal operating temperature, it means it's time for a rebuild. If your trans fluid is dark and has a burnt smell, it's over. You can try some of those mechanic in a can cures, but they usually don't last too long. Did you use the right trans fluid when you changed it? Sorry for your troubles.
