has anybody done this swap on a 4x4? i searched and didnt find anything. Wanted to see how much they spent if somebody did. Auto trans is so boring.
wth? im pretty sure it was.. It had two small levers, and a output flange for a front driveshaft.^ That was not a transfer case you were seeing, it was the OD unit.
I talked with a guy with a CC manual that bought some parts from me about swapping but he never got back to meNot sure I want it manual now though as it is the only auto vehicle we own now.
pretty sure man.. i even did a service on a tcase off a 2wd pathy. i even asked one owner if he was doing a 4wd swap, he gave me a wtf look. He mentioned he bought his truck new off the show room floor.uuh, are you sure? a 2wd's and a 4x4's have different crossmembers, tranny housings, driveshafts, and the tcase would still require oil... it makes no sense at all.
thanks for the input. i did this on an s10 and t was way less involved. i guess i'll start looking around for a junked truck.its not that hard of a swap, i did it myself but had a complete totaled truck to do it
you will need everything from the bell housing back on the propeller shaft and also the drive shaft as well
you will also need the manual's t-bar cross member as the mounts on it are in different locations then the autos (easy to weld on with a welder tho)
you will also need a master cylinder and slave cylinder (slave is on the tranny) and the clutch pedal, for that pedal i just mounted it to the firewall, there should be pre-drilled holes for it with rubber grommets in them
once everything is bolted in and you test to see if it works, the next dog is the electrical, the manuals have different sensors on them, i however didnt dive into them and let my mechanic deal with that
hope this helps
EDIT: i did mine with another wrecked KC, id suggest finding a complete wreck CC to do it
