How would you explain the ambient sensor harness if that's the case? I have it on my truck as do others on this board.T-Bone said:guys - there was another thread on this a couple moths back, discussing the same thing including the wiring. If I remember right, if you don't have the mirror, you don't have the harness (I guess that would be too easy). Although one guy had his installed at the dealership, and they did it pretty quickly.
The service manual says to "slide the mirror upward to remove."lebushaw said:I bought the Gentex mirror - how do I get the factory mirror off the glued on windshield mount?
My Gentex mirror used the factory mirror button. Couldn't tell you about the ambiant temp sensor though.FitzIngarage said:Do the Gentex compass/temperature mirrors use the same mirror mounting point as the Nissan SE factory mirror, i.e. does the Gentex require you to glue a new mirror footing on the windshield?
I think my SE has the ambient temperature sensor mounted right where Zero Six LE says. It's a darn shame that us SE/Nismo people can't use it and it's wiring. Yep, my wife's Subaru Forester has a plug and play harness ready to go for their factory compass mirror. It's a cinch to install.
I put on the GENTEX and it fits on the stock mount. Hard to get the factory mirror off though - I cut a chunk out of my finger. I would be surprised if you have the ambient temp sensor on an SE. I have an 07 SE CC and there was no sensor and none of the wiring.FitzIngarage said:Do the Gentex compass/temperature mirrors use the same mirror mounting point as the Nissan SE factory mirror, i.e. does the Gentex require you to glue a new mirror footing on the windshield?
