I have an '04 crew cab, 2 wheel drive, v-6, auto and I average 19.5 mpg mixed highway/city driving. I don't have the roof rack or anything that would cause extra drag but it is slightly lifted (somewhere around 2-3 inches, done by PO).

I'm surprised every time someone says they are around 11-15mpg but you add the roof rack, a lift, bigger tires, 4x4, etc. it all starts adding up.

The best gas mileage I've had with my 2002 Desert Runner King Cab is 19 MPG on a trip that was basically all highway, I was going right around 65-70 the whole way and the AC on and off intermittently.
Since then I've put on bigger tires (30x9.5.R15 BFG All Terrains) and a camper shell and made the same trip and got 17 MPG, my average MPG is 15-16 but I do a lot of stop and go driving on my commute back and forth to work and I've got a bit of a lead foot!

I'm glad if I get anywhere near 15 MPG with my '99, 3.3, auto, 4x4. It doesn't see much highway use and I have a 7 mile commute. Over the winter I was seeing around 12-13 MPG. But it runs great!
Almost exact same situation here

3 mile each way commute. 2001 KC V6 4x4, getting about 14mpg

Replacing timing belt soon and hoping to do an e-fan conversion at the same time. Maybe I can eek 15 or 16 out of it now lol

I know I'm chiming in a few days late, but I get about 16 MPG on a 2001 Desert Runner. I added a roll bar on the bed, with off road lights, and I'm always carrying tools. It's my DD, and sees dirt driving, town, city, and highway. When I first got it last year it got best around highway at 19-ish, before any modifications. Love my project :p haha
