On second thought I decided to get the more expensive ones that show the grill emblem. They are made by E&G and are fully polished stainless and mount with actual brackets and screws. I will get them on Tuesday and will post some before and after pics as well as the install...

Almost got this....Got real billet instead.Let me know how it turns out, because the billet grille I got is getting returned....terrible product,in many ways...Carriage Works.I wanted my emblem gone. The one your getting is like sheetmetal,I think that will make it sit more flush. The side piecces in the grille look odd to me on my current billet grille.

Well I got the package. When attempting to install it I found that the center and lower inserts were the wrong ones. They are just a little to wide and do not fit in the recess. I am assuming they are for either a LE moder or possible the Titan? The outer ones fit well and look great. The finish is outstanding and it is very heavy duty material with good hardware...

I contacted the vendor and they were very apologetic and professional. The parts were incorrectly labelled at the manufacturer and I can understand that mistakes happen. I will base my review of the vendor on the final outcome of this, and not on a manufacturer's mistake. The correct pieces should be here Monday or Tuesday and I will install and post pics when I'm done...

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about. Notice the upper part of the center grill is too narrow and the lower part is too wide... :(

After a little cut and paste it seems that the center piece is indeed a Titan part...
Now I'm just wondering about the lower piece. It is the right shape it is just a little too long and will not go into the opening. Does anyone know if the lower grill is different on an LE compared to a SE?

Jboat,

I am not sure about the E & G grill but I just ordered a Carriage Works grill and the LE
CC and the XE KC show to use a slightly longer bumper grill. I have an LE KC and I had
to return the first grill as it was roughly an inch too long to fit.

I am still trying to figure out why in the world the lower opening would have to be different on the different models and if so why it would have an LE CC use the
same as the XE KC. No rhyme nor reason as far as I can tell.

Interesting...I'm thinking that the aftermarket grill manufacturers may not be aware of these differences between Frontier models. Who knows why Nissan decided to make them different. When I called the vendor he sounded kind of confused that the lower would not fit. I got the feeling he assumed that I did not know what I was talking about.

Time will tell. Maybe we can get some different model owners to take some measurements and post them up. I will take some ID and OD dimensions when I get my parts and post them here...

The ordeal is finally over and I have my parts. The second center grill fit like a glove and looks great. They made a great effort in getting me the correct parts sent to me in a timely fashion...

Unfortunately...The second lower grill they sent me was exactly the same as the first and was waaaayyyy too wide to even fit. Another problem was that the hardware was not included in the second shipments...I had already returned all the hardware that went with the 2 pieces that I sent back (like the vendor told me to do I might add). Luckily I am handy with a grinder and happened to have a set of 8/32" nylocs and some fender washers that worked out well. I had to grind off about 1/4" on each side to get the lower into place and it was still too wide. I had to give it a little bend to get it in and now it bows out just a little. No one but me will notice, but I'm the one who matters most...

Overall I am displeased with this purchase and wish I had not done it. The final result is satisfactory. It looks pretty good, but I am not happy that the lower piece still does not fit perfectly. I probably should not have taken the grinder to the lower, but I did it out of frustration and not wanting to wait another week or more for them. I think that E&G just made the part wrong. All this and the fact that they did not include the hardware with the parts...

Here's a pic in the dark. I will take some more in daylight conditions. Also, I forgot about getting the measurement...Oh well...

Finished product. They told me that Nissan installed the wrong (narrower) lower bumper on my SE. They said that the SE is supposed to have the wider of the 2. After sending me the one that supposedly is for the LE it fit like a glove...

Can anyone out there confirm that the LE lower grill opening is narrower than the SE. If that be the case then NIssan did indeed install a LE lower on my SE!??!...

Here's a pic. I am finally a satisfied customer...

Jboat,

I recently installed a Carriage Works billet grill in my '05 LE KC. The first time they sent me the wide grill that showed to fit the CC LE and the KC XE. It was too wide for my
LE KC so they then sent the narrow bumper grill and it fit just fine. Their paper work
did not show the SE listed as the wide bumper grill.

I don't know that this will help you, but my bumper grill opening is 36" at the top and
just a little over 38" at the bottom. I could not get a more accurate measurement at the bottom because of my front license plate bracket.

Thought I'd bump this thread. E&G eventually sent me the correct lower piece and it fit perfectly. They even let me keep the old one...

I bought my E&G Grille from ShopSAR.com On their website it says that SE's and LE's are different. It also says that some SE's are the same as some LE's and vice versa. They said before ordering to measure the exact width of the lower grille before ordering. They were so concerned about sending me the correct part that they offered to open the grille up before shipping it to me to make sure I was going to get the right part. Lucky for me as my truck was one of the few that got a LE sized opening.
