Trying to see if this is possible? I want to add a new radio and be able to control the volume from the steering wheel with an aftermarket controller

Well the first thing you could try doing is to pop off the covers on your wheel and check for the plugs.

If those harnesses are already there, easy. If not, it will be more trouble than it’s worth to source OE harnesses and run them. Like raine suggests, start by taking it apart a seeing if what you need is already there.

I have a '12 Equator, the same as a Frontier. My old steering wheel looks just like yours. I can tell you that in mine the plug on the airbag side of the steering wheel is the same and the clock spring connections were made through to the column side, but the wires for the steering wheel controls did not go out of the connector on the column side. They can be added to the plug without too much difficulty if you're willing to take off the steering wheel and column housing.
You may have forgotten that you asked this question before

All the information you need was already provided in the previous thread.

Have you tried it yet? I just got a 2010 SE and picked up those exact Amazon controls and also this unit which says it supports it. I saw the old thread but none of the photos exist anymore, completely unsure if it’s a plug and play or if routing the wires is a PITA. Also I’m not sure if a PAC is needed with an aftermarket radio or not. 🫠

So you have the parts? Then same thing... the first thing you could try doing is to pop off the covers on your wheel and check for the plugs.
I have not, been too busy with work

No, I don’t have the parts, I haven’t ordered a PAC, I just had an eye injury earlier this week, AND I’m time/money limited before I have to ship the truck oconus.

So it’d be really helpful if this person tried this mod and has any idea of what I may encounter so that I can make a judgement call on if I should cancel my orders for a refund and not waste time pulling things apart.

...so wait - you ordered the parts FIRST...then decided to ask questions AFTER?

It's not a waste of time to do the work yourself to determine if a mod is possible. The first 5 steps listed in the thread below really don't need photos, and shouldn't take more than a minute:
