Just thinking about trying to find 3" fogs and maybe cutting hole in the OEM plastic to fit them. Any one else done this? Also can I splice into the stock wiring, or should I I just wire a new toggle? thanks

easiest is to wire a new toggle. Which is not very hard at all. Where exactly are you loong to mount them, inside the stock bumper?

I was thinking of using the stock mounts and just cutting the hole out of the center of the dummy trim.

Not to threadjack, but how do you connect the OEM's if you don't have OEM wiring? The best I can figure is some sort of spade-like electrical connection...

I had some in there and did exactly what your thinking about doin. I wired them to a toggle i had by the cargo light switch and looked pretty good. Just have to take your time when cutting the filler pieces so it looks legit.

Bake, you can cut the plug off an connect longer wires to the ones coming off the fogs and wire them up that way, and also use a toggle.

Are you trying to put stock fogs in without the truck being prewired. Or are you trying to put aftermaket fogs in and use stock wiring?

The XE isn't pre-wired so I would assume Bake is trying to add them and have them work like OEM. In this case, his best bet is to use a relay and use the Parking or Headlights to trigger the relay and thus power the new fogs.

I have OEM fogs already installed, but I have no OEM wiring at the bumper as dubie said. Yes, I will be using a relay to power them off the Parking lights. What I'm saying is, what are your suggestions since the bulb needs a plug and I have no plug?

Gotcha, that could work and would also be pretty easy to do.

Youd have to splice them right into the wire off the foglight, so cut that plug off or find some spades that will fit into whatevers on the plug and run that.

first of all, don't cut the dummy! it will just twist off, then you can buy the actual fog light bezel plastic for like $5 each. then you can decide which fog light route to go.

I cut my dummies to get the right fit with my aftermarket fogs. All depends on what size they are.

And I did cut the "dummies..." those are mounts. Take them out cut the outside part and stick the fog lamp in... It's pretty easy once you take it out and take a look at it.

I'm not sure about all 05+ XE's, but I've got fog light harnesses behind the light blanks.

Dealer and Courtesy told me all I needed was a new stalk switch and the fogs.. plug-n-play.

Still havent done it yet lol. its on the long term list.

Get in and look up there with a flashlight. My 07 XE was pre-wired too. They were looped up on themselves and electrical taped so weren't easy to see but they were there.
