Just curious what you ended up paying for it. Did you go to the dealer or a glass shop?

Mine got massacred a few weeks ago in a freak windstorm. 2 cracks from side to side, and another 1 coming down from the top. Plus it's all pitted now and I can't see a thing if I'm driving towards the sun.

some insurance companies have an annual windshield replacement coverage so check yours first. having said that, if you have to foot the bill go with independent installers they are much cheaper. i was told the glass they all use is the same anyways so there really is no advantage to going to a dealer to have it replaced. the dealer i get my truck serviced at says they will only order the part but will still have to call a glass specialist to install it. they do not install windshields in-house....

Thats what I'll probably do. I've replaced 1 windshield ($199) in 18 years of driving, so I can't say I wish I had paid for glass coverage.
