Towards the back of my truck welded onto the exhuast pipe right above the axel there is a bracket with a black cylinder attached to that. WTF is it??

I also was wondering about this. I replaced the stock exhaust and ripped it apart, I would go with the balance thing cause it was just rubber.

Hahaha no wires. Just looks like a black soda can thats bolted to a bracket thats welded to my exhaust. I'll get a picture up in a second.

Sorry crappy cell phone pic, but you get the idea.

I've been told by many people in the know that it helps dapen vibrations in the truck, since its on the exaust i would think in nissans testing they found a weird vibration w/ the exaust and that stoped it!

Works for me lol. I just saw it today and had noo idea what it could possibly be for.

It's also great for reducing vibrations from your garage floor, mine has been there for 2-3 years. Actually it sits right next to my stock exhaust and my Banks tailpipe. It's not welded on it bolts on unless they changed things since 05.

Yeah, I kept mine off when I installed my exhaust, but I wonder if it would lessen the sound at all if I put it back on. Sounds like an experiment for the summer.

It will reduce vibration.
