I'm looking for a good place to mount my shotgun or rifle in the truck. Theres always the back glass but I'd like to see what everyone has. My concern with the back glass is it block the sliding window. I've seen some cool setups in other larger trucks but I wanna see what looks good and works in our Frontiers. Post up what you've got!

Do you have a CC? I can get two rifles (or shotguns) behind the rear seats and still put the seat back in the upright position. Nobody would ever know they are there!

I have tried this. The rifles and the shotgus that I have do not fit lengthwise in the window. Because of this problem, I had to get the "sleeves" that hold them directly bihind the seats. I didn't like them so I now keep them in their cases in the back on the floor. The only gun that fits in the window is my M-4 and it is the only one because it is so short and the scope plus the stock sticks up too far and hangs down too much to be able to accommodate another long weapon. If anyone has found a better setup or approach, I would love to see it!! Good luck with the gun storage...

I have an AR15 but I dont really want to carry that in my truck. I mean, i DO, but thats not what I'm looking for lol

Ever consider getting a tool bin instead? Can carry more stuff, won't be much more expensive, is lockable for security, and it'll protect your weapons from the elements much easier

concealed carry license would be a CCL or CWP (concealed weapons permit)
anyway. on my gen1, it depends on what Im doing. I usually just put my rifle case in the bed. If I need a rifle in the front seat, I push my AR between the passenger seat an the console.

I just keep my .40 in the glove box. I dont like it because it is too far of a reach. I wish it would fit in the pocket of the door.

So uh....gotboost.....just wondering, if you were talking about mounting a shotgun or rifle in your rear window or "back glass", why did you assume everyone was talking about concealing weapons? LOL I bet your a crew chief! Just a little flightline humor there....wanna guess what my job is?

openly visible guns these days just invite thieves to come smash a window or two.
also, some states (like Oklahoma) a long gun cant be loaded on a public road and hunting from a motorized vehicle is illegal in most cases.
The other side of that, It quite legal to drop your magazine or unload the gun and drive around until you find a location of interest. Using Dove hunting for example, Im in an out of my truck a dozen times when hunting, usually step out, drop one round in the open chamber and close the action and another in the magazine. I keep a box of shell in the console so I can grab a couple on the way out.
There are a couple console mounted gun cases / holders that will protect your gun from scratches. Personally, I use my AR or Mossberg and neither are safequeens.

Lemme guess... You spent yesterday looking for a couple rolls of flight line and a bucket of tailhook grease?

764spd had said he had them behind the seat and that no one would ever know they were there. So he was talking about having them concealed:)

I carry my 1911 in my center console armrest but I'm talking something to hold long guns mostly for when i want to go out in the desert or woods and shoot. It's also piece of mind knowing i have something bigger than a handgun :)

I wasnt talking about mounting it in the window, I dont want it there. Someone mentioned mounting behind the rear seats which would be concealing them. Are you a crew chief as well? I hope you're not weapons or specs. We'll have problems. lol just playin

Dont forget to blow on the pitot tube for an accurate reading. lol
We're also going to need that engine bay extended. Our support section doesnt have the "extender tool". Go to the other AMU's and ask for it. haha

I just put them in a case and lay them in the back (Ive got a king cab too). But it would be nice to have a good setup instead of just laying them there.

Ive seen in Cabelas seat covers that have a sleeve type system on the back that straddle them in between the two bucket seats and can hold 2 or 3 guns.

Theres also the option of buying the gun rack that mounts to the ceiling of the cab and holds two guns. Dont know if I would like that, but who knows :)

the sleeves would certainly protect the guns, even one of the cheap, soft long gun cases would work.
Cabela's has several option, I would avoid anything that mounts over you head. there isn't much room for most of us anyway.

yeah, i dont like the overhead ones. plus most of those are mounted in the front and i'd like them behind me...just in case i do get pulled over. i imagine it would make the officer more comfortable if they were behind me then right on top of me.
