I am planning on swapping out my factory rad for a Spectra Premium.

Has anyone heard of aftermarket rads failing causing cross contamination? I searched but didn't come across anything (which I think is a good sign).

I just replaced a mine with a Denso, haven't heard of any issues with any aftermarket units.

Anything can fail since the 2 tanks are one above the other, but we have not had reports of it happening that I have seen.

Put a Spectra Premium in my Q45 4 years ago, and haven't had a bit of trouble with it.

If "rad" means radiator, then I haven't read anything bad about aftermarket or updated Nissan radiators. Your 2006 needs to have this done, soon, if V6/automatic and still on original "rad".
