Maybe Ive missed it or haven't done enough searching but is there any "shift kits" or diy mods I can do to the auto tranny in my truck to improve shifts and firmness? I know with some cars you can remove the pan and drill out specific passages, changes springs, etc and add resistors to sensors that will change line pressure any particular search terms i should use or anybody know of a website or guide i could look at? Thanks...

btw truck is a 2001 2wd V6 crew cab *turbo coming soon :)

If you look up the trans for performance (RE4R01) you can find some bits about the modding the line pressure resistor for firmer shifts, you dig deep on some AUS sites and Skyline forums and find some more.
Shift/tow kits—>

i used the first one, $50. And it is firm but not hard shifts.
kinda like you’re thinking, drop the fluid/pan. Pull the Valve body and split it, ream out some passages, stronger springs, etc.
You should have the better Valvebody to begin with, I don’t know if the (RE4R03A) is just a upgrade of wear parts, # of bands etc.
