I was just curious if there are any hypermilers with fronty's? If so what kind of of mpg's can u pull? I am mostly interested in 1st gen ka24de 5 spd as that is what i have. I wouldn't consider myself a big hypermiler altho I have a scangauge 2 and use some mild hypermiling techniques... My best is only around 25... I thought that I would do better as I heard some people have gotten 30...

Average or just city? I'm getting almost 20 city.

like a 75/25 mix of highway and city
does anyone with a 4 cyl 4x4 try for good gas mileage??? what do u guys get... also i was kind of curious about what kind of mpg's the desert runners get when people try
On my 98' 4x2 ext cab, I have got a best of about 26mpg. That was simply driving 70 on the interstate using cruise control. Nothing else. I wish I could get closer to 30. I also drive to fast, usually b/w 75-80mph, so I normally get around 21-22 on the hwy/city.
i got 10.2mm eagle vision plug wires of ebay for 30 dollars! what a purty blue also.
new cap and rotor button-- 25$
new ngk iridium ix plugs-- 49$
so yea its about 100 $ i spent.
so worth it.
also pulled the throttle body off and cleaned it.
and did u notice a bump in mpg's?
I don't think you will really notice a bump in the mpg's. Only way to get what everyone else gets is by having it up to factory specs. No codes and tuned up. Tires to normal pressure and correct size. Driving is THE most important part in getting decent gas mileage.
27-29 Mpg

Until a recent trip of about 412 miles, I had not been able to break the 20 mpg barrier. The truck is a Suzi Equator extended cab 2WD 4cyl with auto. I averaged 55-60 on mostly flat roads and got between 27-29 MPG, all highway. Before I was running 70MPH and was getting 20mpg. Maybe now that the weather is warmer (80 degrees) that has helped. I try to keep the RPMs below 2500.
I cruise around here in the KY mountains and get around 22-25 mpg driving at speeds of 55-70.
I draft semi's like a mo fo!!! I can't believe how little pedle it takes to maintain speed! Almost have my foot off the pedel, and still doing high way speed! I wish I could hook on to the semi, and turn my truck off!
LOL!! i do about the same.. there are always coal trucks on the road who go atleast 65-70mph so i just stay right behind em. down fall is they drop alot of rocks so i have to swerve to miss the big ones... lol
