So I picked up some 1.5" wheel adapters from fellow member. I tried to put them on the other night. I thought they might rub and they did pretty bad. I did not have access to a heat gun at the moment. Well my question is ... i have a 2" Body lift on the way. Do you guys think the tires will clear with the addition of that or should I still have a heat gun on hand? I have 285/75/16 on stock NISMO wheels.

Are they rubbing in the front or rear or both?

If in the front, is it the inner fender well or the fender?

Why are you looking to run an spacer/adapter anyway?

Lastly, if you are doing a 2" BL and are unsure if the tires will clear, you should have the heat gun on hand and any other things you think you may need.

They rub on the back of the front fenders and the well. It just barely hits the pretty bad i would say (up to 1/3 inch when turned all the way) and I needed the adapters to put the rims I want. I bought them already and I was sure it would fit but I guess not.

I might need to have someone do my fender cuz I dont know how to bend it myself

if your looking to roll your fenders then there is a really cool tool for that that bolts up to your hub with the wheel studs and has like a hard poly wheel on it that rolls the fender to whatever setting you have it on. its pretty sweet and easy. i bet any performance shop near you has one

If its rubbing on the back of the front fender, there is a DIY alignment (Brutals Alignment) that you can do with adjustable lower control arm cam bolts. Bolts are about 60 dollars I think. This moves the wheel forward in the wheel arch about 1/2" to 3/4".

Colin123: Have you ever used one of those fender rolling devices? Or seen the outcome? And do you know what said device is actually named? I saw it once on a tv show and always wondered if it actually did a decent job. Its always stuck in my head ever since, and I was actually wondering at one point if it would work for our truck needs.

What wheels? What is the offset?

You might get more rubbing when the lift is installed from the bottom of the fender (where there is metal directly behind the plastic liner) so the heat gun won't help much.
I put 285/70R17's with a +18 offset on and it still rubbed with a 2" lift (not so much from the area where a heat gun would be useful, but from the bottom of the fender). I needed 4" of lift in the front to get rid of the rubbing. The adjustable eccentric bolts along with brutal's alignment write-up helped as well.

its just called a fender roller, had to have it done on the rear of my old 350z when i put slicks on the rear and it worked really good and looked really easy didn't do it myself but watched and it did it without any damage or cracking of paint or anything. here's a link to the first site i found online that you can buy one from Eastwood Fender Roller Tool

it is set up pretty universal for most bolt patterns but you'd have to make sure it fits ours

So new update. I brought my car into a shop to roll my fenders but the mechanic said it still wouldnt fit because the tire will rub the body. The only idea I have left is to get the 4in lift but it might be a while before I can fork over 800 bucks. Any other ideas?

How are they impacting the fender? While turned or all the time? Did you have an alignment done with cam bolts pushing the lca all the way forward?

You can only roll a fender on the inside and mainly only helps to "tuck" a tire.

Now, what do you mean by body? frame or plastic or etc....

not sure what the alignment with ica forward means but i basically just did another alignment after i installed the 2 inch leveling kit.

The body is the frame. And i am not down to chop my frame.

I'm just thinking about getting new rims and selling the ones I have since they are pretty much brand new. Im not sure yet but im definitely going to consider all my options before making anymore decisions.

I didnt read the 2nd page before posting that last post but I still don't want to cut the frame because I don't need another bigger tires than the ones i have.

i am a poor college student and i don't have as much funds as some of you guys might have. i always keep in mind of the possibility i might need to sell or trade my car in the future (hopefully not the near future).

The coil spacers sounds like a good idea though, i'll look into it. I'm still kinda new to this and i'm also saving up for a bumper which isnt cheap.

tires alone has caused me more trouble than everything else ive done for this truck and it shouldnt even be that hard

Shakes head um the frontiers have a true frame not a unibody so you can go to town cutting sheet metal so they clear. also mark where the tire is rubbing on the fender and take a good dead blow hammer and make them fit.

Lastly if you have a 2in leveling kit you can't add more spacers on top of it as you already have coil spacers.
