OK... There was a thread not long ago about the correct use of when 4X4 should be used. That said the answer by the all the vetrian off roaders was you can use it AS LONG AS YOUR TIRS CAN SLIP, BUT WET ROADS ARE NOT SLIPPY ENOUGH. Well by those pics... thats as slippy as your gonna get. This diff failure is completely unacceptable, IMHO.
I had a few issues right when I got my truck, was ready to trade it in on a Yota. But since thoes issues my truck has been 100%, so I started to love it again. But time and time again, I hear these diffs, shlting the bed, as soon as you really need it. I mean of corse it wont brake if your just a little stuck. But we all paid good money for our trucks, and we bought 4X4 in case we get stuck.
I think we all understand that its not a tank and we indeed may get stuck even with 4X4, but by no strech of the imagenation should you EVER, EVER brake your 4X4 while being completely stuck! Its not like he was rock crawling. That I could understand that he broke.
So I would like to hear from some of the members who posted in this thread....
http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f8/4x4-wet-pavement-52666/ I just would like to find a better understanding of what is ok to do and what is def a no,no.
