I'm looking for Amsoil trans fluid and can't find it anywhere. Are there any chain stores that usually carry it? If not where is the cheapest place to order it online? My truck has the stock fluid in it at this time, and I wanted to do a filter replacement and 4 drain and fills to replace the old . Will the Amsoil mix ok with the old stuff?

You can order it straight from AMSOIL. If you get buy their Preferred Customer package thing for $20 it'll save you money down the road when/if you want to buy more stuff from them. It's only a yearly thing so you have to renew but hey, it saves like 15% or so on average off the retail price.

Oh, and their customer service is excellent.

Yay, paying money so you can buy something from Amsoil. That company reminds me of one of those pyramid schemes.

I would suggest that the OP travel over to thenewx.org and clubtitan.org and see if anyone on there is a dealer. I know there are a few on here but I think they are out west and you need someone from the east coast.

The guy who's a dealer over on the newx.org just redirects you to the Amsoil online store. Actually, all the online dealers I looked at do that. However, it might be worth going over there and sending him a PM and see if he'll hook you up. I only glossed over that thread so there may well be details I missed.

I didn't know they just re-directed you to the amsoil site.

The guy on CT that I was thinking of is: Sftail1990 .

When I looked into Amsoil it was just too much money for the hassle you have to go thru to order it. If someone was local then it could work but having to order and wait a week it just too long for me to wait. This is why M1 wins in my book thus far. I just don't expect to push it beyond 5k on the motor oil, 15k on the trans.

Thanks for the help! I done some asking around at auto parts stores and believe it or not I found a gearhead that has a good buddy who is a dealer that lives 10 miles from me!

No - paying money so you can buy at a discount, shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
Google oxymoron for me.

I've got no problem with Amsoil, but marketing it like you're in some super secretive ultra exclusive club, that only members can buy is why I will never use it.

If it was any better than Mobil, Pennzoil, Castrol, then maybe. For my use, it's not.

It comes down to paying for shipping or joining the club.
OP: I would just take a tranny line off the radiator, start the engine for a few seconds, and let the tranny pump about 4 qts out. Refill w/amsoil. Repeat, 4 or 5 times. Run for 100K, repeat.

I've ordered from UXArmy using paypal and got the fluid quick; he's on the west coast and I'm in the east. Just send him an email and he'll send you a quote. Regardless of who you order from, the shipment will come from your regional Amsoil warehouse.
