Hooked up my amp today and was not turning on. Battery wire is good and fine, however I am pretty sure my problem is with the REM wire. I have it wired to the green/blue wire on back of radio. Is this, or is this not the wire i connect my amp to for on/off power?

Grab yourself a test light. Looks like a screw driver with a long cord on it so you can ground it. then turn the key to on and poke the wire with the test light. If the test light lights up then you found a good wire and its a problem with the amp. If the light doesnt turn on then go wire by wire until you find one that lights it up and try hooking the amp up to that and see how she works. Thats just how I'd go about this I'm sure someone else will have some insight. Good luck

do a jumper from rem to the battery wire terminal of amp to verify that the amp does turn on which would indicate that the rem wire is incorrect. It always amazes me that people will make connections based on wire colors off some diagram without testing and verifying yourself that the wire is correct. ya 99.9% of the time the diagrams are correct but personally i like to use the diagrams as a guide to locate wires then verify with my meter that the wire is correct.
A basic multimeter can be bought for under $5 and is a safer alternative to a test light.

the easy solution is to just tap into the power port in the center console. it only has power when the ignition is on and the remote turn on doesnt require but a few millamps to activate so you can still use the port to charge cell phones or whatever.

I thought about tapping into the console power, but tap the brown or black wire? Also I have it tapped into the green and black wire on the HU, is this the right or wrong wire? Or do you feel that I would be better to tap into the console. Also forgot to mention that on that green and black wire I also tapped in a FM modulator, maybe with the two it is too much for the wire.

My amp never turns on the way I had it. Cause of the REM wire or bad amp?

you would need a test light to check which wire to use. that will make it a lot easier. as zoomzoom said, try a jumper wire from your main power wire to the remote and see if the amp turns on. if it does then the remote wire is your problem and not the amp. remove your remote wire from the amp first so you dont risk back feeding the system.

If your amp turns out good, the typical wire you tap for amp remote on a stock head unit is the antenna wire. That way the amp is on only when the radio is on. There is never a time where my radio isn't on, but tapping the antenna wire is standard procedure at most car audio shops when dealing with a stock head unit.
