Alignment-Uneven tire wear

Obviously, when you get new tires, just get it done. Nissan charged me $10 just to check it, since I was already having it serviced. The 'All About Brake and Tire' shop I had it done at last checked it for free. I plan to at least have mine checked once a year.

Also, regular tire rotation is a factor. There are varying opinions on whether to cross rotate or do front to back, etc. I've had shop owners recommend cross rotation and the Nissan service writer insist that I should never do that. So for better or worse, both have been done with my current set. Even Toyo's website says you can cross rotate my tires.

When I recently had my tires mounted on new wheels I think the tech didn't keep track of ea. tire's position. (as I specifically asked) I noticed 3 of the tires were mounted "dirty side" out, so I have no reason to believe any effort was made to rotate in any manner. So much for my efforts keeping even wear.

While not bad, I think most of my outside wear occurred right after I got my new tires. I was being cheap and put off alignment till I got new suspension/ lift parts chosen and installed. That dragged out longer than planned. Prob. put on 4-5k mi. w/ bad alignment. I should have planned ahead better. I know I'm not much help, just rambling about my experiences.
