I am in the process of researching my very first modifications for cold air intake systems.

Which air intake system provides the greatest HP increase:

K&N 63 Series Aircharger Kits (boasts 14 HP increase on Frontier) $235
afe Magnum FORCE Stage 2 Cold Air Intake System (boasts 11 HP increase) $220
Volant Truck Kits W/Box (boasts up to 18 HP increase) $310

I am running an aFe on my truck. I prefer it to most because of its dual cone design and
it installs easy. I also needed a spare gasket and got one in less than five days and
that's shipped to Canada! So I think their service is top notch. If you look around the net
a bit more you will find an aFe for around $ 190.00 or less. My second choice for
intakes would be the vollant but they have fit issues on 06 frontiers.

Don't put much faith in manufacturers HP claims. Here is a link to a actual dyno test done

Thanks for the response. Yeah, that link provides a lot of useful information. I like the afe stage 2 because it comes reccommended by everyone that has it. However, I would am interested to know if anyone else has installed a Volant or K&N cold air intake system and knows what their HP increase was?

I have the airaid intake and I like the construction of it. I beleive someone had dyno'ed the volant and that had gotten a little more hp because of the design locked away from the engine heat.

Thanks, that makes since. Now I'm just trying to find out whether I should go with that shiny looking Injen. Do you know if Burtman Industries is a reputable Internet dealer? Also, no one has been able to answer my question of what type of auto mechanic store provides the service of installing these air filters? Much appreciated.

Burtman industries is a real good distributor, I have bought products from him and it was just as he said, or even better. Any mechanic shop could install it for you, but its pretty simple to install.
