been thinking about putting aftermarket wheels on my truck and was wondering what has to be done with the factory tire pressure warning system. i seen alot of you guys have aftermarket wheels on your trucks. what did you do about this setup?

didnt do anything

when i switched i didnt even know about the tire pressure system and didnt know about it till i took a long trip and the light final came on. my light comes on after about 2 hours of driving for some reason. if theres any ways to stop that i would love to know.

to stop the light either put the valve stems from the factory wheels in or take out the bulb of the light that is lit up.

How does that tire pressure system work? Are the factory valve stems the sensors for the system?

Yes they are, they have the sensor inside the wheel attached to the valve stem.

....and how does the truck read the sensors? is there a transmitter? do they take batteries?

The sensors have transmitters inside them and yes they should have batteries.
