Hello!

New member to the forums here, but I've been lurking for a little while now. I am looking for a set of projector headlights as well as a set of lightly smoked taillights for a 2016 Frontier. The body style seems to have not changed for quite a few years, but as far as lighting goes- I cant find anything beyond a 2014 Frontier. I assume it is correct that they are different?

With all of that said- I know there's the DIY options for both lights. My standards and my abilities do not match- so I rather purchase a set of lights that are already built rather than butcher them myself. Can anyone point me in the direction of projectors or smoked tails for a 2016?

Thanks,
-Matt

Welcome to CF. Though a little pricey, can take a look at this link below and see if they are offering the discount too.

HIDProjectors

Many vendors for smoked tail lights depends on your taste/style needs. Can start with a few of our sponsors: CARID, Autoanything; the ebay ones look kinda of cheap to me

There is a slight design change in early 2014. If you call your dealers parts dept., they can look and see when the change, IIRC it's early 2014 there is a cutoff point where there is some design change that requires different headlights and taillights, different part numbers even.

What change is that? The only change I'm aware of is when Nissan redesigned the front end on the '09 model year. I know they made the front air damn a little longer, they added the skirt between the cab & the bed, & they also changed the tailgate cover & made it into a spoiler. All of these were done for aerodynamics to help meet stricter fuel economy regs, but were done for the '13+ model years.

As far as the front end & headlights go, the primary change was for the front clip of our trucks. For example: if you look at pics of a Frontier from 2007 & from 2012 you'll notice the headlights are different. On the early years the turn signal is over the main light while in the later years the turn signal is in the lower inside corner of the headlights.

When Nissan changed the front end design they gave it more of a raked effect & also changed it to where the upper trim levels came with the chrome bumper rather than the plastic bumper. Headlights for years '05-'08 will not fit anything past that & vise versa.

You also have to be careful for certain things in regards to whether the part is made for a metal or plastic bumper such as fog lights. If you get fog lights for a metal bumper but you have a plastic, they will not fit. Again, this is true for going the opposite way.

Other than these few changes, I don't know of anything else they did exterior wise anyways.
