Here's an idea. Wondering if anyone has tried it.

Order these for the plastic brackets ($40):

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stealth-Fo...017-Nissan-Xterra-Frontier-Clear/253193174557

Order these for the lights and the stalk ($80):

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Fog-Li...Nissan-Frontier-Xterra-2010-2016/292200584298

Result is fog lights that turn on with the stalk, for $120.

Another idea would be to order the $40 kit, plus the stalk by itself ($46):

https://www.ebay.com/itm/HeadLight-...Switch-for-Frontier-Xterra-11-16/192258375300

Then wire up the aftermarket lights to the OEM wiring, grand total of $86 for fog lights with stalk.

What do you think?

Those lights already plug into the factory wiring. All you need is a stalk. I bought the lights for $32, stalk for $28, on eBay.

I stand corrected. Those lights have a different part number. Search for part number STF0150-C.

Well, I already ordered the other ones. The STF0150-C ones look like a different bracket? There's so much conflicting information out there I'm not even really sure which one will fit my truck. I'll report back to say whether or not the ones I got are the right ones and if they plug directly into the factory wiring.

I didn't end up using the brackets because I have a shrockworks bumper, but yeah they're the bracket for plastic bumpers. There's only one type of bracket so they should be the same.

The fog switch I bought was used OEM from a Maxima.

Looking at the OEM part number in the description for the ones you ordered they come up as being for the chrome bumper, so maybe that's why.

Yeah, but the picture shown is the ones for the plastic bumper, I think...I messaged the seller before I ordered them and he said it was the wrong listed part number and the lights were the ones for plastic bumper, but who knows.

This is what I was basing the look of the bracket on:

That 999F1-KV000 is the part number the nissan website gives as the fog light part for my plastic bumper. I guess I'll know when they get here lol.

The fog switch I bought was used OEM from a Maxima.
Oh yeah? I'll have to check into that! So the entire Maxima stalk plugged right in?

edit: dumb question. I guess a better question would be...do you know the part number and/or what year maxima? Does the stalk you got have the "Auto" position on the head light switch part?

Frontier, Xterra, Maxima, Altima, Pathfinder.. Probably Sentra and others, all have the same stalk, you just need to make sure it's for the right year range. It changed in late 06 for the 07 plus models and then it looks like some of the newer ones have a different lighting option (DRL?) But as long as you get the ones with the right connector it should be fine. The ones for the 350z are pretty cool looking and I would have got that but I wanted the auto headlights option on the stalk so I can try to add that at some point.

The lights came in. The brackets are correct and like you said the lights plugged directly into the existing wires. Haven't wired up the switch yet but I'll report back after I do that.

If the fog lights plug into factory wiring harness (without fog light option), then how can i turn them on? Will i need to wire a separate switch or will they turn on with standard night time lights?
thanks

Well see my second post for a link on how to wire in a switch. The alternatives are to buy a turn signal stalk as mentioned previously in this thread. They will not come on with the regular lights unless you add wiring to do so.

OK, I bought a turn signal stalk from a 2004 maxima for $25 which made the total $65 for stalk and lights. Installed easily and works great. One thing I hadn't expected was that the Auto function on the turn signal stalk turns the lights on and off with the ignition! So I can just leave it in the Auto position and the lights will just be on whenever the truck is on. There's no light sensor obviously, but I can live with the lights being on all the time to not have to remember to turn them on lol.

edit: Forgot to say, the Auto option also causes the lights to stay on for a minute or two after the key is turned off. Pretty nice if you're walking away in the dark!

Just came back in here to say big thanks @Wet Dog for your help. I feel like I made out like a bandit thanks to your advice.
You're welcome and hey I just learned something from you, I didn't know the auto on the stalk does that. That's awesome!

2016 SV....A year ago I bought fog lights off ebay but they were the incorrect mounting platform. I zip tied 'em in anyway, and they work fine. They had also sent the stalk with 'auto". Oh, and the harness has the plug n play for the lights. I didn't know about leaving the stalk in auto either. Then a friend bought a"19 Midnight Edition which has all the bells and whistles. Now my thought is that maybe we can add auto headlights since we have the stalk, and there's a little round area on dash that we have, but he has the light sensor for his auto lites there. Think there might be a plug-in down there for a sensor?

never mind. My "auto" setting doesn't turn the lites on when I start up. Must be a different stalk. Got excited there for a minute.

Were u ever able to do the "auto' lites?
