Since I think the oem fogs are too overpriced and dont put out much light, I decided to purchase a set of universal fog lights from Kragen Auto Parts for $44.99. I still need a new switch and particularly one that fits in the empty slot next to the cargo lamp switch. If anyone has found a switch that fits, please let me know. I'm thinking of just getting another cargo lamp switch from the Nissan Parts Store and use that.

Here are the pics:

Hi,

Could you give us the exact part number and does it fit exactly in the slot without any modification at all. I am no DIY guy but would very much like to add these fog lights. Had to return the OEM since my 2006 SE Crew Cab was not wired for it.

thanks

it wasnt as easy as it seems. it took me a coupe of hours. the lights are only 4"wide. the cutout on the bumper is probably closer to 5" maybe 6". i cannibalized existing the plastic covers from the bumpers and used a blade to cut out the middle portion. enough to fit the light assembly inside but not all the way through.

i attached the supplied mounting bracket to the mounting location probably used to mount the oem fog lights (it is located behind the cutout on the top side). i placed the cannibalized covers back in place then filled in the hole with the new lights and mounted them to the bracket that i previously mounted.

i will take better pictures of the mounting location tomorrow so ya'll can have a visual. i was supplied the necessary wiring for the lights. i didnt like the supplied switch so i've yet to put the wires through the firewall.

i dont have the part number since i threw away the box. the lights are similar to the ones found on ebay. here is the link. it looks like the only difference is the mounting hardware. try your local Kragen, Checkers, or Schucks. Ive also found these at Pep Boys and Auto Zone. all places fro $50 or less

Great job! The lights look like they were installed at the factory. I decided just to go with the OEM lights for my 05 Frontier CC SE. I got the lights on Monday and it took about 1 or so to install. It took me 5 minutes just to find where the put the wire harness for the fog lights. I started to think it did not have the connectors when I found them tuck away up near the radiator shroud. Once I find a grill guard I like I will install some PIAA driving lights to complement the fog lights.

i'll also be looking for a light bar or brush guard or even a bumper for the frontier in the future. one thing is for sure though, there will be more lights in the front and at least one on each rear corner.

btw, a poster from nissanforums.com recommended this switch. has anyone used these? i will look at it tonight and see if they fit.

I have a 2006 Frontier XE and would love to install some fog lights on it. I do have a plug for the fog lights but have no idea of what type of lights to get and how to install them. I would greatly appreciate your guideance and help with this project.

Sounds like a good deal and a pretty worthwhile install. I'll be looking for these in the local Autozone and Oreilly stores this weekend. Thanks for the info.

fog lights

I am thinking of installing fog lights on my 04 frontier xe. I noticed a fog light position in the box on the left under the hood. Do i wire them into there or use the normal way of finding a power source with the engine running?
