Thank you, but does anyone have a wire diagram on how to install one on a 2001 frontier? My truck didn't come with one of these, so I guess this would be the best solution (to get the dome light to turn on when the doors are open). Also, since my dome lights are on/off and doesn't have a door/on/off would I be able to wire a on/off switch for the jamb switch? Thanks for the help guys!

the dome light switch is usually based off ground with +12v always connected. All you have to do is run the wire from jamb switch (which will use ground) up to the dome light ground connection AFTER the dome switch. This way you'll retain use of the dome switch and lights will come on with the door. Only drawback with this setup is that you won't be able to turn the lights off when the doors are open. Adding a toggle switch would solve this problem.

I know this is a necro post, but I do have door jambs but they only control the sensor for doors open (on the dash). Would I be able to piggy-back this for the inside lights to work? I would also deem it necessary to have a override switch..I am not much of an electrical guy, so any diagrams/explanations would be appreciated! Thanks!

simplist way would be to buy a horn relay about 5 bucks from any parts store. tap the jam switch for the input signal, give it a 12 volt(constant) source and run wires to the light.

i did this for a light in my amp box for it to kick on when the amp kicked on. its all in the relay really
