Ok, I purchased a remote start in a group buy 8,9 months ago for my 2018 SV. Anyway has anyone installed theirs yet. (I'm sure someone has) are you using your OE remote to start or are you using the new remotes? Where they hard to program? Any surprises with the install?
I'll finally have the time Thanksgiving weekend to install it.
kinda depends on which remote start you bought. generally if sold as a turn-key kit any programming is either already done or detailed out on how to do it (for the brain-box to read your key signal). As far as remote, unless it says expressly that you can use OEM remote you are limited to the remote shipped with the kit. Also, you are better off in most cases using the aftermarket remote, as the oem unit doesn't reach very far (or not at all in my case). One of the reasons I wanted a remote start was for better remote range/reliability. Having a warm engine in the winter was nice too
We're you in on the group buy for Accessories remote start? I believe we bought the basic model. Plus I see they are actually sold us Compustar brand.
Thanks for the reply.
I have thought about buying one of the remote start for Accessories, I have read every thread here and so for have not seen negative reply but I wonder how hard it is to install for a person that has some limitation in my hands (arthritis ) ?
