I tried the search several times but couldn't find anyone with a similar problem. I used my ac for the first time in a while today, or tried to anyway. The light will come on and cold air will come out, but after a min or so the light will flicker come on and off at random and the compressor will kick on and off. Any ideas what this might be?

Probably low on refrigerant. The on then off of your system could be a safety cutting off the cycle.
